Maenclochog Community Council is the local council that serves the village of Maenclochog, Llan y Cefn and Rosebush. The electoral ward comprises of an electorate of 616 (June 2021).Maenclochog lies South of the Preseli Hills, about a mile Southeast of Rosebush on the B4313 Narberth to Fishguard road. Researchers have found what are believed to be the remains of a 13th Century castle at Maenclochog. The village was served by the Maenclochog Railway which ran from Clunderwen via Maenclochog to Rosebush. The tunnel just outside the village was used during World War 2 as a bomb-test site for Barnes Wallis, creator of the bouncing bomb. Following the 2nd World War, an attempt by the War Office to take over the 16,000 acres of the Preselau slopes as a military training ground was thwarted by a strong campaign led by ministers of religion and headteachers. This acquisition would have meant a loss of farming livelihood.

There is a general stores and post office, two petrol stations, a café and village pub as well as local businesses to include electrical businesses, hardware stores and art galleries. There is a community school in the village as well as Nant y Cwm, an independent Steiner School in Llan y Cefn. St Mary’s Church stands at the heart of the village together with several other chapels.

This rural community council has seven councillors and employs one part-time Clerk. The main function of the council is to act as a focus group through which the concerns of individuals and the community can be expressed to organisations such as Pembrokeshire County Council, Welsh Assembly Government, the Health Authority, Dyfed-Powys Police, Dwr Cymru, Natural Resources Wales and One Voice Wales. It is important that communities make sure that their concerns are made known to the authorities that make the decisions.

The Council is a planning consultee in relation to planning applications made within the community to Pembrokeshire County Council.

The Community Council meets on the third Wednesday of every month except for August and December. The Council meets at the community hall, Maenclochog at 7pm.

The Community Councillors are Mr David Nicholas, Mr Eifion Evans, Mrs Myfanwy Williams, Mr Matthew Jenkins, Mr Carwyn Phillips, Mr Kelvin Webber, Mrs Sara Grim.
