Yn ganolog i bentref Eglwyswrw mae Tafarn y Serjeants, sydd bellach yn breswylfa breifat. Mae'r hen dafarn yn dyddio nol i'r 17eg ganrif os nad yngynt, a enwyd felly oherwydd bod Brawdlysoedd Cemaes yn cael eu cynnal yno. Caeodd y llys ynadon cyfagos yn 1992. Mae'r cerbyty ar ochr orllewinol y dafarn hefyd yn rhestredig Gradd ll, fel y mae'r hen stablau. Roedd Tafarn y Bwtchers, cyn dafarn arall y pentref, yn rhan o ymgyrch Visa Canada yn 2004 a oedd yn tynnu sylw at enwau lleoedd anodd eu hyganu ledled y byd. Roedd eironi yn y ffaith nad oedd y dafarn yn derbyn cardiau Visa. Mae'r pentref yn parhau i elwa o Ysgol ardal addysg Gymraeg fywiog o tua 100 o ddisgyblion. Mae yno siop amaethyddol a gorsaf betrol lewyrchus hanner milltir i'r de o'r pentref ar gyffordd yr A487 a'r B4329.

Mae gan y gymuned Cyngor Cymuned wyth aelod a Chlerc rhan amser, ac mae'n rhan o ward etholiadol sirol Cilgerran a gynrychiolir gan y Cynghorydd John Davies, aelod Annibynnol o'r Cyngor Sir ers 1999. Mae'r Cyngor Cymuned yn cyfarfod ar ddydd Mawrth cyntaf pob mis ac eithrio mis Awst. Mae Cymuned Eglwyswrw yn cynnwys plwyf Meline, rhan ogleddol Llanfair-Nant-Gwyn a rhan dde-ddwyreiniol Nanhyfer. Roedd tua 50% o ddeiliaid y gymuned yn siarad Cymraeg yn 2021.

Mae Fferm Ceffylau Gwedd Dyfed hanner millitir i'r de-Orllewin o'r Pentref ar yr A487. Mae'r fferm wedi darparu ceffylau ar gyfer gorymdeithiau milwrol brenhinol. Ychydig ymhellach ar yr A487 mae Castell Henllys, caer o'r Oes Haearn wedi ei hadeiladu. Mae'r Gymuned hefyd yn elwa o lawer o sefydliadau hunanarlwyo o'r radd flaenaf, gyda Gwely a Brecwast Ael y Bryn yn cipio llawer o wobrau cenedlaethol.

Eglwyswrw is a Community and Parish in the former Cantref of Cemaes, Pembrokeshire. The Community of circa 700 inhabitants sits between Newport and Cardigan along the A487 and the B4329. The community has the highest % of Welsh Speakers in Pembrokeshire. The Community spans from the outskirts of Llantood near Cardigan to Bwlchgwynt on the Preseli hills, which is the highest point on the B4329 where it crosses over the Preseli's to enjoy the most breath-taking views of the County of Pembrokeshire. The Community includes the settlements of Brynbwa, Crosswell and Brynberian. There are three community centres that serve the community, Hen Ysgol Eglwyswrw, Crosswell Hall and Canolfan Llwynhirion Brynberian. There is also a very active Young Farmers Club in Eglwyswrw that meet in the Club room every Tuesday.

Central to the village of Eglwyswrw is The Serjeants Inn, now a private residence. It was a public house dating back to the 17th Century if not earlier, so named because the Cemaes Assizes were held there. The adjoining magistrate's Court closed in 1992. The coach house on the west side of the Inn is also Grade ll listed, as is the Armoury, or former stables. The Butcher's Arms, the village's other former pub, featured in a 2004 Canadian Visa campaign highlighting difficult-to-pronounce place names around the World. There was irony in the fact that the pub did not accept Visa Cards. The village continues to benefit from a vibrant Welsh teaching area School or circa 100 pupils. A prosperous agricultural stores and pertol station and shop is half a mile south of the village at the junction of the A487 and B4329.

Eglwyswrw has its own elected Community Council of eight members and a part time Clerk and is part of the Cilgerran County electoral ward represented by Cllr. John Davies an independent member of the County Council since 1999. The Community Council meet on the first Tuesday of the month, there is no meeting in August. The Community of Eglwyswrw includes the Parish of Meline, the north part of Llanfair-Nant-Gwyn and the South-eastern part of Nevern. Eglwyswrw has circa 50% Welsh-speaking inhabitants as of 2021.

Dyfed Shire Horse Farm is half a mile to the South-West of the village on the A487. The farm has provided horses for Royal Military Parades, including Apollo the drum horse at the Coronation of King Charles 3rd. A little further on the A487 is Castell Henllys, a reconstructed Iron Age Fort. The Community also benefits from many high class self-catering establishments, with Ael y Bryn B&B capturing many national awards.
