JOHNSTON is a popular village measuring just over a mile long, situated on the A4076 between Haverfordwest and Milford Haven. Founded as a small farming and mining Village, the population has grown from just 99 in 1801 to over 2000 today. Johnston boasts wide-ranging amenities, including Off-Licence Fruit & Veg Shop, Post Office, Bakery, Doctor's Surgery, Fish & Chip Shop, Indian Restaurant, Chinese Take-Away, Fishmonger, 24 hour Petrol Station, Hairdressing Salon, Chemist and 3 MoT Garages. Also, there is a Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) Church, a Baptist Chapel, and St. Peter's Anglican Church. There are four pubs - The Legends Inn & Restaurant, The Silverdale Hotel & Restaurant, The Windsor Hotel & Restaurant, and The Railway Inn.

Johnston is well-connected via public transport. Buses run regularly to Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Pembroke, Pembroke Dock, Neyland and Tenby. Johnston railway station is on the main line between Milford Haven, Haverfordwest, Swansea, Cardiff and London.

Johnston Community Council. Regular meetings of the Community Council are held at 7pm on the second Monday of each month (except August), unless otherwise advertised. The venue is as advertised on the agenda. This will normally be the Village Institute, Church Road, Johnston SA62 3EY, with meetings also accessible online via Zoom. All meeting agendas will be published on this webpage, for information. Members of the public are welcome to attend the meetings as observers, and to make representations on tabled meeting agenda items, but may not otherwise participate in proceedings unless invited to do so by the Chairman. Anyone wishing to log in to a community council meeting remotely may obtain the login details from the Clerk, using the contact details to be found in the 'contacts' tab opposite. Minutes of meetings held will be published in draft form on this webpage within seven working days of the meeting date. Formal approval of meeting minutes normally occurs at the following regular monthly meeting. The next scheduled monthly meeting will be held on Monday 8th April 2024. Approved minutes from the February 2024 monthly meeting are available opposite. Draft minutes from the March 2024 monthly meeting (subject to formal approval) are also available opposite.
