JOHNSTON is a popular village measuring just over a mile long, situated on the A4076 between Haverfordwest and Milford Haven. Founded as a small farming and mining Village, the population has grown from just 99 in 1801 to over 2000 today. Johnston boasts wide-ranging amenities, including Off-Licence Fruit & Veg Shop, Post Office, Bakery, Doctor's Surgery, Fish & Chip Shop, Indian Restaurant, Chinese Take-Away, Fishmonger, 24 hour Petrol Station, Hairdressing Salon, Chemist and 3 MoT Garages. Also, there is a Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) Church, a Baptist Chapel, and St. Peter's Anglican Church. There are five pubs - The Vine Inn & Restaurant, The Silverdale Hotel & Restaurant, The Windsor Hotel & Restaurant, The Railway Inn, and Johnston Country Club.

Johnston is well-connected via public transport. Buses run regularly to Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Pembroke, Pembroke Dock, Neyland and Tenby. Johnston railway station is on the main line between Milford Haven, Haverfordwest, Swansea, Cardiff and London.

Johnston Community Council. Regular meetings of the Community Council are held at 7pm on the second Monday of each month (except August), unless otherwise advertised. The venue is the Village Institute, Church Road, Johnston SA62 3EY.

Meeting arrangements during Coronavirus pandemic restrictions. Due to the Coronavirus pandemiic restrictions, normal meetings of the Community Council have been suspended until further notice. However, periodic meetings to transact necessary business will be held online as and when required. Regrettably, but in accordance with the provisions of the Welsh Government Covid-19 Regulations, these meetings will need to be held without the option for members of the public to attend. Please be assured, however, that normal meetings will be resumed at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime, all meeting agendas will be published on this webpage (but not in the Community noticeboards) as usual, for information. Minutes of the meetings held will also be published on this webpage. The next scheduled meeting will be held on 8th June 2020. The agenda for this meeting is available to view and download.

POSTPONEMENT OF 2020 A.G.M. Please note that the 2020 COmmunity Council A.G.M. has been POSTPONED until later in the year, on a date to be advised. This is due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, and the associated restrictions on movement and gatherings. In the meantime, the current Chairman and vice-Chairman will remain in post.

Coronavirus. All residents are urged to follow the Government advice on social distancing, and restrictions as announced in the Prime Minister's address to the Nation on Monday evening 23rd March.

Pembrokeshire County Council Community Coordination Hub. The Community Coordination Hub, with staff from PCC, PAVS and Delta Wellbeing forming as a team to assist callers requiring assistance due to the Coronavirus movement limitations, is available to persons requiring assistance. Access to the Community Coordination Hub is by contacting 01437 776301 or communitycovid19@pembrokeshire.gov.uk At present working hours are Monday to Friday, 9.00 – 5.00, but these will be reviewed as necessary to manage demand and provide a timely response. Any calls or emails that are received by the Pembrokeshire County Council Contact Centre will be referred through to the Hub. Furthermore, information is being added to the PCC website.
